I’m waiting anxiously for my new laptop to arrive…
And in the meantime…
I have a cousin who is currently 6 months pregnant and has a 3 1/2 year old who is very active. Apparently on Monday she began having contractions and called her doctor’s office. They told her to rest and to call back in the morning if she was still having contractions. She called back and they had her go in for an appointment. Today they had her go in for bloodwork to determine if the “labor hormone” was in her blood, aka if she is indeed in labor. I talked to my aunt who was wanting to know about how labor is stopped and what might happen, since I had preterm labor. I talked to her about it, but I think that perhaps the doctor’s office does not feel it is labor because they have waited this long. But I’ll just have to keep hoping that’s the case.
We are going to make the trip to see Grandma this Saturday, and hopefully my dad, stepmom and little sister will be there too. They went last weekend and apparently did some cupboard cleaning. If anyone ever thinks of me as a packrat, they only have to meet my grandmother to know where I got that particular trait. I hadn’t called her in quite a while (over 6 weeks, she said) which was mostly due to my work schedule. I will be changing to a first shift work schedule beginning next week which means no more MomSquad, but I will be able to talk to my dad and my grandmother more often which is definitely worth the trade-off.
We have agreed that now is the time to switch to a babysitter so that I can work days, so we will be visiting her on Friday and the baby will be starting there on Tuesday. She and her husband are both friends of ours and the children she is watching she has watched since they were newborns. We’re both very confident in this decision.
