My husband and I decided to go on a diet. I had already planned to partially because of the gallbladder problems that I have had and also to start losing weight after delivering the baby. While I’m at my pre-pregnancy weight, I’m not at all satisfied with being that weight and I’m picking up my weight loss journey right where I left off before that positive pregnancy test rocked our world.
My husband’s reasons for weight loss are slightly different. He’s not happy with his weight but even worse, his asthma is worse the heavier he is, so losing weight will not only help his overall plan but it will also help with his breathing. He quit smoking during this past March (and has stayed quit!), but still needs to lose weight to help his lungs improve even more.
We love snacks, but the one snack that my husband just can’t possibly live without is potato chips. He loves chips. Like ridiculously so. He would marry chips if he could, and they are one of the foods that he struggles with the most when he tries to lose weight, which is why we were super excited to try popchips.
popchips are all natural, gluten free, kosher certified, have no trans fats and have no saturated fats (other than 0.5 g in the sour cream & onion and cheddar flavors). They even meet national school lunch nutritional standards, which no traditional chips do. On top of all that, the way they make the chips is super neat – they use pressure to squeeze the potato slices until they POP! And voila – a chip!
I know what you’re thinking – when something has that many positive qualities, it probably tastes like cardboard. But the surprise is – they don’t! Not only do the chips taste great, but a picky chip fanatic like my husband is perfectly happy to substitute them for regular chips. Now he can eat his chips AND maintain his diet, which is going to go a long way for his weight loss goals!
You can pick up a single serve bag (.8oz) for MSRP of $1.29 or the big bag (3oz) for $2.99. I highly recommend that you try these chips – they are definitely going to help the Hubs and I on our weight loss journey, and they might help you too! Check out the Jalapeno flavor for sure – they are the best!
