Jif Recipe Contest for College Scholarship – Kindle + Prize Pack Giveaway
| October 4, 2011 | Posted by Joanna under giveaway |
If you haven’t entered the Jif Most Creative Peanut Butter Sandwich Contest yet, you really should! It’s an awesome opportunity for Latinos to show off our tradition of creativity in the kitchen. And the even more awesome bonus – the winning child can earn a $25,000 college fund! I’m always up for sending more Latinos to college! And in honor of the 10th anniversary, Jiff is adding $10,000 in educational prizes.
Visit www.jif.com and www.jifenespanol.com by October 12 to enter the contest and to see the official rules. Sandwiches will be judged on creativity, taste, nutritional balance, appearance and ease of preparation. Ten semi-finalists will be picked to compete in a national online vote in January 2012, then five finalists will be picked to compete in a live judging event in New York in March 2012. Four runners up will each receive a $2,500 college fund!
Last year’s winner – 8 year old Margalit Mermelstein from Raleigh, NC made “Wushu Chicken Taco” that pairs Jif Creamy Peanut Butter with chicken, asparagus and squash, wrapped in a tortilla.
There’s also the That’s Why I Choose Jif contest that gives parents a chance to share their stories about the choices they make for their families. Adults can visift www.jif.com to submit an essay of 250 words or less (English only) answering one of these questions:
1. How do you make the best choices for your family?
2. Why do you choose Jif Peanut Butter?
One grand prize winner will win a 4-day, 3-night trip to New York to serve as a judge at the 10th annual Jif Most Creative Peanut Butter Sandwich Contest finale event in March 2012.
And as an added bonus – they’re letting me give away a Jif prize pack that includes an Amazon Kindle!
