What is YOUR Favorite Blog?

Do you have a blog that you read regularly?

One of my favorite parts of being a blogger and blogging as my job is getting to know other bloggers. I have met some of the most interesting people who I know through blogging, reading their blogs, and interacting in their communities. There are so many writing styles, personalities and ideas flowing around the blogging world that it is incredibly inspiring to see new blogs.

variety in natureWhen I decided to start seriously blogging – to become a professional blogger – I knew there was a wealth of information that I didn’t know. Analyzing other successful blogs has given me what I feel is a pretty solid base. I may not ever be as successful or popular as some of the blogs that I’ve studied, but I think I’ve been able to learn something from each and every one of them.

I’ve blogged in one form or another since 2000, although usually it was more online journaling than keeping a blog that anyone else outside of my friend matrix would want to read. In the beginning, the most exciting posts I wrote were about the Cake concert I attended in Indianapolis and some really bad poetry that would’ve made ears bleed at an open mic night. But over time I have evolved as a person and my writing and blogging styles have evolved too. Consider yourself lucky!

The great thing about the blogging world is that there are so many people with different ideas and it is constantly changing – I think I enjoy that part the most. With so many new blogs starting every day, so many niche blogs I’ve yet to discover, I know there’s always a blog I would love that I have yet to see.

That’s why I need your help – I want to know your top 1 or 2 blogs to read. I know your blog is awesome, but you get extra points for recommending a blog that you don’t write. So please – let me know, what is your favorite blog to read?

Hi Joanna! I love this blog post because I, too, am in touch with wanting to find even more blogs out there...I always enjoy finding new ones and gleaning ideas and even blog friends from them! The two that come to mind for me right off the bat are from Shan at familybringsjoy.com and from Katrina at inkatrinaskitchen.com Shan is so friendly and blogs about family, mothering, pop culture, projects...these things. Katrina is my guilty pleasure in that she runs a beautiful site with her baking talents. The goodies she comes up with and her gorgeous photography that go along with it blows my mind! :) She's super sweet, too! Hope this helps! So nice meeting you today! I subscribed to your RSS feed and look forward to reading your blog more regularly. Have a good night!

Thanks Jen, I will definitely check those blogs out! It was great to meet you today too, I loved your Message in a Bottle post!

Great post, first of all. I like sharing other blogs and hearing what other's have to say. I am a big fan of The Hack Novelist over at his new site, aptly titled thehacknovelist.com. If you are interested in writing your own novel, or just enjoy really good writing, this is your guy. Also, in the past few months, I've run across a fellow by the name of MJ Monaghan who has become a blogging buddy of mine. You can find him at mjmonaghan.com.

I will definitely have to check those out! Thank you for sharing! I've always dreamed of writing my own novel, but haven't yet started. I've even joined NanoWriMo and not finished...
