Net10 Wireless Family Plan – Works for Me!

The other day I overheard my son pretend to introduce me to one of his classmates, and I couldn’t stop laughing. He said, “Hi Maddie, this is my mom. She’s cheap!” Oh, the things kids pick up! But he’s right – I am cheap. I love to save money and I hate spending more than I absolutely have to for anything. Cell phones are one of the luxuries that I debate about the necessity of, especially with the constant uptick of the contract prices. My husband and I both used to be totally addicted to our smartphones, but in an effort to be cheap, we downgraded to regular phones. While my pocketbook doesn’t mind the difference, we do miss the functionality and fun of smartphones.
We live in a fairly rural town in Indiana, and although it is close to Fort Wayne, cell phone coverage in and around Auburn and Dekalb County can be spotty at best. There’s usually one person with a different carrier in every gathering, and usually only one person whose phone works the whole time. It can be pretty annoying, but by the time you find out your phone doesn’t work at your house, you’re usually already under a contract. Bummer, right? So I was super excited to hear about this Test Drive opportunity for selected members of the Latina Mom Bloggers network to work with Net10 and check out their service and smartphones. Talk about a win-win for me! I jumped right on the opportunity, and I’m so glad that I did.
We were able to check out the LG Optimus Logic and the LG 800G cell phones, plus the Net10 Family Talk Plan. At first, our start was a bit rocky because we had some trouble getting the phones activated. The bright side was that the customer service agents I worked with were super nice and helpful, and when there was a problem that required a new SIM card, it arrived super quickly. In fact, I received the phones last Friday, and even with the hiccups I ran into, I was still able to test them out to post this review! To me, that seems like they’re doing something right for sure! Check out my video below for more information about the individual phones and what we thought of them.
Net10 Wireless offers the nation’s best carriers, since they partnered with the country’s top four carriers to bring you the network quality you need. That means you get the same dependable coverage they offer—for half the cost. The best part, in my opinion, was that the service not only worked in my house (I rarely get coverage in my house!), but also that the plans definitely fit in my son’s description of me – cheap! After dealing exclusively with contracts, having a pay-as-you go option was really nice. I love that the Family Plan with unlimited calls, texts, and data is actually less expensive than our regular bill for just standard phones with texting. Net10 Family plans include unlimited data, text, talk, starting at $50 for first line, $40 each additional line.
I highly recommend that you check out Net10 Wireless (or click here for the Spanish site). Being able to use the Android smartphone technology for less than regular phones with texting is not something you’ll want to miss! While you’re at it, head on over and like the Net10 Wireless Latino page on Facebook to keep in touch with what’s new with Net10. So, without further ado, here is my video review of the phones we received. I hope you’ll enjoy it as much as we enjoyed testing them out!
